Description
Job Opportunity: CT Tech
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM (3 shifts/week, 12 hours each)
Typical Department Volume: 270-290 scans per day
Job Summary
- Perform diagnostic radiology procedures (CT and X-Ray) following established guidelines and safety protocols.
- Prepare patients for examinations and position them properly for imaging procedures.
- Use GE and Toshiba/Cannon imaging equipment.
- Work in a Level I Trauma hospital setting.
- Call duties as assigned within staff rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Ohio.
- Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Eligibility
- Traveler’s permanent address must be more than 100 miles from the facility location to apply.
Certifications & Competencies
- ARRT certification (CT and XR).
- BLS certification (AHA, ARC, or Military; RQI acceptable).
- Completion of unit-specific competency exams within 2 years of start.
- Color Blind Testing: 100% pass required (online test with 2 attempts).
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam must be completed within 7 days of signing and valid within 2 years.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam by MD, RN, DO, NP, or PA within 2 years prior to start, confirming fitness for work without restrictions.
- Negative TB test (2 PPDs, QGold, TSpot, or MTB) within 6 months of start.
- Respirator Fit Test documentation within 1 year of start (renewed annually).
- Drug screening: Negative 9 or 10 panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start; marijuana testing required, no medical marijuana exceptions.
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required by specified deadlines.
Background & Compliance
- 7-year background check completed within 1 year before start date, including SS trace, county searches, nationwide criminal search, sex offender search, and sanctions screening.
- Fingerprinting required on-site or at approved locations prior to or on first day of orientation.
- Must complete facility-required agreements and policies prior to start (e.g., confidentiality, acceptable use).
- Driver’s license required if job duties include driving.

- Facility uses EPIC EMR system.
- Scrubs color: Charcoal grey.
- Call responsibilities included as part of staff rotation.
