Nuclear Medicine Tech

Job Overview

  • Location: Lafayette, Indiana
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Day, 4x10 hours (6:00–16:30)
  • Hours: 40 per week
  • First-time travelers: Accepted
  • Local candidates: Accepted
  • Pending state license: Accepted

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Indiana
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year
  • 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • CNMT or NMTCB

Schedule / On-Call

  • Weekend work required for call
  • On-call required, rotating for one week at a time for after-hours coverage, including Saturday and Sunday
  • Must work 2 of 3 major holidays

Clinical Requirements

  • Adult and nuclear cardiology experience
  • Ability to multitask and work as a team player
  • Required procedures and responsibilities include:
    • Gastric emptying
    • HIDA scan
    • MUGA scan
    • 3-phase studies
    • Whole body bone scan
    • Liver imaging
    • Perfusion studies
    • Ventilation/perfusion studies
    • Exercise/rest multiple studies
    • Pharmacological stress
    • Isolation precautions
    • Starting and maintaining peripheral IVs
    • Storing, handling, and disposing of radioactive materials

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
