Labor and Delivery RN
Overview
- Travel/contract RN position in Saint Paul, Minnesota
- Acute care teaching hospital with Level 3 trauma designation
- 317 staffed beds
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Shift: Day or night, 4x12 hours
- Weekly hours: 48
Schedule and assignment details
- Every other weekend required
- May float within scope to postpartum
- First-time travelers accepted
- Block scheduling not available
- Local candidates are not accepted within a 100-mile radius
- On-call not required
Required qualifications
- Valid RN license in Minnesota
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
- Experience with Epic
Responsibilities and clinical experience
- High-risk Labor and Delivery care
- Experience with C/Births
- Postpartum tubal ligations
- D and C
- Cerclage placement and removal
- Waterbirth
Compliance and onboarding
- Criminal background check required
- EPLS/GSA/SAM required
- HHS/OIG required
- Fingerprinting and Minnesota DHS clearance required
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
- Tdap required
- TB screening required
- Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity documentation required
- Hepatitis B documentation required
- Respiratory safety clearance required
- References required
- Skills checklist required annually
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required
- Competency exam required
- Pre-orientation online modules must be completed before start
Additional notes
- Scrubs are provided by the unit
- Parking is available at additional cost after the first day for day/evening shifts
- No more than 5 days of requested time off is preferred
- Client may cancel up to 3 shifts at any time without penalty
