Labor and Delivery RN
Job Overview
- Travel/contract RN position in New Ulm, Minnesota
- Night shift: 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- First-time travelers accepted
- Pending license accepted
- Local candidates are not accepted within a 100-mile radius
- Block scheduling may be considered
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Minnesota
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
- FHM
- IV Start
- Must be able to care for all aspects of labor and delivery, including triage antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care
Schedule and Staffing
- Weekend coverage requested every other weekend, with every third weekend possible
- No on-call requirement
- Ratios: days 1:3, nights 1:2-3, weekends 1:2-3
- Average daily census: 1-2
Work Setting and Duties
- May float outside OB to support patient care
- Float duties may include watching mental health patients at risk of harm, taking vital signs, toileting, and repositioning on the medical/surgical unit
- No patient assignment outside the OB unit
Preferred Qualifications
- AWHONN Intermediate
- Charge nurse experience
