PCU Travel/Contract RN
Location
- Kansas City, Missouri
Schedule
- Night shift, 3x12 hours
- 36 hours per week
- Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period
- Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments may be required
- Floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Unit Overview
- 24-bed intermediate unit
- Fast-paced unit supporting throughput from the ED and OR
- Handles intermediate medical patients and surgery overflow
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 1 to 2 years of Telemetry experience
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS

- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Telemetry monitoring

- Feeding tube care and management
- Continuous bladder irrigation
- Port access, blood product administration, central line care, peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting IVs
- Heparin protocols and PCA

Additional Notes
- Local candidates are not accepted; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
- No on-call requirement
- Block scheduling is not available
- Requested time off is limited to no more than 7 days
- Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks
