Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel assignment in the Emergency Room.
• Unit name: ECC / ER.
• Total unit beds: 29-bed ED, 4-bed BDU Behavioral Health, and 7-bed FT (Fast Track); all beds can swing to ER beds.
• Patient population: adult and pediatric ED.
• Age range: neonate to geriatric.
• Trauma level: Level 3.

Required Qualifications

• 1 year minimum of specialty experience.
• 1 year minimum of clinical experience.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS.
• NY license, or proof of application with applied date, in packet at time of submission.
• Epic experience from within the past 2 years.
• Charge experience is required.
• Must be able to start within the next week.

Preferred

• Prior travel experience.
• Charge experience.

Schedule

• Shift: 12-hour evening shift.
• Shift times listed: 7a-7p, 7p-7a, 11a-11p, and 3p-3a.
• Rotating schedule.
• Weekend requirements apply.
• Holiday requirements apply.
• No call.
• No block scheduling available.

Unit Details

• Floating is not required.
• Charge is required.
• Respiratory and anesthesia are available 24/7.
• Nurses manage drips, start IVs, perform EKGs, and give respiratory treatments.
• Nurses may be responsible for boarded patients, psychiatric patients, and COVID patients in their general assignment.
• Critical care ICU patients are moved consistently fast to the ICU unit.

Additional Notes

• Scrubs: navy blue and white.
• Closed-toe shoes required.
• No artificial nails.
• Zero tolerance for cell phone or earbud use while working.
• Public transportation is not accessible; reliable transportation is strongly recommended.
