Description

ICU Registered Nurse

Location

  • Nampa, Idaho

Contract

  • 13 weeks
  • 12-hour night shifts
  • 48 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN role
  • 1 year of ICU experience
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • NIHSS certification
  • First-time travelers accepted

Clinical Details

  • 10-bed ICU
  • Typical patient ratio: 1:2
  • RN is expected to titrate drips
  • RNs read telemetry strips
  • Common patient types include heart failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, ventilated patients, GI bleeds, strokes, TPA, post-code, pneumonia, and post-surgical cases
  • Travelers will not take CRRT patients

Schedule and Assignment Details

  • Shifts are 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Weekend coverage is as needed
  • Holiday coverage is as needed
  • No call or standby requirement
  • Unit-specific orientation is 1 to 2 shifts
  • May float to telemetry and to ICU units in Meridian and Boise

Work Environment

  • Charge nurse does not take patients
  • CNA support is available, 1 per shift
  • Hospitalist is on site 24/7
  • Intensivist is available via telehealth 24/7
  • Respiratory therapy is in the ICU 24/7
  • No telemetry techs on the unit

Additional Notes

  • Must be a team player
  • Radius rule: candidates must live outside 50 miles from the facility

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
