Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Batavia, New York
- 37 beds
- Day shift: 4x12 hours, 7:00–19:00
- 48 hours per week
- Staffing ratio: 1:9 on all shifts
- Float required to another med/surg unit
- Weekend coverage: every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts per month
- Locals are not accepted; must live more than 75 miles away
- Unit accepts first-time travelers
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Experience with Epic
- Government-issued photo ID
- 7-year criminal background check
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check
- HHS/OIG check
- Education verification
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgement
- State license verification
- NURSYS verification
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Color Blind Testing Online

Unit Details
- Typical med/surg tele unit
- Patients are mostly elderly and include respiratory, cardiac, GI, and neuro diagnoses
- Potential overflow ortho patients
- Care Delivery Model uses teams of 1 RN, 1 LPN, and 1 PCT for up to 9 patients
- Modified teams are used when complete teams are not available
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray
- TB questionnaire in lieu of annual TB test renewal
- Rubeola immunity
- Mumps immunity
- Rubella immunity
- Hepatitis B immunity or declination
- Varicella immunity
- Drug screen within 30 days of start
- Flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season
- Eye exam within 1 year of start
- COVID vaccination documentation is preferred but not required
Scrubs
