Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Lees Summit, Missouri
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 18:45–7:15
• 36 hours per week
• Unit details: Avg. daily census 6.9; 18 rooms; 20 beds

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
• NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursery experience

Schedule Requirements

• Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, including Friday and/or Saturday nights, plus 2 Sunday nights per 6-week schedule
• On-call: 2 12-hour call shifts per 6-week schedule
• RTO limit: no more than 7 days

• Bottle, breast, and gavage feedings
• Placement and management of oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes
• Isolation precautions/PPE
• Neonatal sepsis and sepsis workup
• Administration of blood and blood products
• Arterial line management
• Central line blood draw
• Central line/implanted line care
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• UAC and UVC management
• Antibiotics/antivirals
• Anti-seizure medications
• Neonatal dosage calculations
• Steroids
• Surfactants
• Assist with lumbar puncture
• Neonatal abstinence syndrome
• APGAR scoring
• Developmental care
• Patient/family teaching
• Phlebotomy
• Thermoregulation

Float Scope

• May float to well baby nursery
• May attend deliveries on L&D
• Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
