Perfusionist

Overview

• Location: Monroe, Louisiana
• Employment type: LTA
• Shift: 06:30 - 15:00
• Contract length: 12 weeks
• Call is usually every other weekend
• Average hours: 38/40 per week
• The assignment supports 1-2 heart cases a day
• There is 1 surgeon on location
• A couple of PRNs help out

Required Qualifications

• Valid Perfusionist license in Louisiana
• Perfusionist (2 years of experience)
• Perfusionist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion
• Resume or profile
• FMOLHS HRIS form

Onboarding Requirements

• Criminal background check completed within 30 days prior to start, including SSN address trace, county criminal searches for all counties lived/worked/in school in the last 7 years, national criminal check, NSO, OFAC, OIG, SAM, third-party education verification, employment verification for the last 5 years, and driving record
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start
• Unit-specific skills checklist within 1 year prior to start, updated annually
• Competency exam within 1 year of start with passing score of 80% or higher
• Core competencies current within 1 year prior to start with passing score of 80% or higher, renewed annually
• Eye exam and color vision testing within 1 year prior to start
• Health statement signed and dated within 1 year of start stating the traveler can work without restrictions
• Annual TB questionnaire within 6 months of start
• TB test: QuantiFERON blood test within 1 year prior to start or 2-step TB skin test
• MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and Tdap documentation
• Fit test within 1 year prior to start, updated annually
• Badge photo
• Contract annual education packet

• COVID-19 vaccine or exemption accepted
• Influenza vaccine or approved exemption accepted
