Description
MICU RN
Overview
- 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU in a Level III Trauma Center
- Adult ICU role with Med Surg floating required
- 36 hours per week
- Day/Eve/Night coverage with every other weekend
- Day positions rotate between 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a when needed
- Night shift does not rotate
- RN to patient ratio: 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Med/Surg areas
- Free on-site parking
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Massachusetts
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience
- MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
- Ability to read telemetry strips
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
Preferred
- MICU experience
Additional Notes
- Floating required, mostly to Medical/Surgical units
- Patient population includes adults with substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
