Role Overview

• Travel/Contract RN/L&D in Lees Summit, Missouri
• Unit includes L&D and postpartum in the same physical space
• 28 rooms, 33 beds
• Average daily census: 7-10
• Ratios: 1:1 days and nights; can be 1:2 or 1:3 depending on acuity in antepartum and/or cervical ripening

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Labor and Delivery (3 years of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Post Partum experience

Preferred

• LDRP experience preferred
• LD/LDR experience considered

Schedule

• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 6:45-19:15
• 4-5 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
• Minimum of 2 Sunday night shifts and 2 Friday day shifts per 6-week schedule period
• 2 on-call shifts per 6-week schedule period

Float Scope

• May float to postpartum to provide couplet care or care for postpartum mom only

Unit Details

• L&D houses antepartum and intrapartum patients
• 11 labor rooms and 5 triage rooms
• OB triage is not required
• Postpartum unit has 15 rooms and 2 flex rooms
• Postpartum and post-operative GYN patients are cared for in the postpartum unit
• 5 rooms can convert to adult med/surg overflow, but those patients are cared for by med/surg staff, not OB RNs
