Pharmacist Inpatient

Overview

Travel/Contract role in West Plains, Missouri
Start date: ASAP
Contract length: 13 weeks
Night shift: 4x10 hours, 19:30–5:30
Weekends required
First-time travelers accepted
Locals not allowed; 60-mile radius restriction applies

Required Qualifications

Valid Hospital Pharmacist license in Missouri
Hospital Pharmacist experience within the last year
Minimum 1 year of Hospital Pharmacist experience
Dosing skills:
- Anticoagulation therapy
- Clinical dosing
- Geriatric dosing
- High-alert medications
- Pediatric dosing
- Pharmacokinetic dosing
- Renal dosing
- Therapeutic drug monitoring
- Warfarin dosing
Intravenous preparation skills:
- Antibiotics
- Compounding
- IV piggyback
- Sterile technique
Pharmacotherapy management for cardiovascular, endocrine, infectious disease, pulmonary, and renal medical problems
Drug shortage management

Preferred

BLS
EMR familiarity with Meditech
Dosing: cardiac dosing
Drug shortage management

Work Setting Notes

No pharmacy technician coverage overnight
Pharmacist is the only staff member in inpatient pharmacy during shift hours
Pharmacists are not expected to attend code blues or rapid responses
Night shift pharmacist will also work from a PharmacyOneSource queue to address clinical alerts

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
