Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year
• License: Missouri Pharmacy License required
• Certifications: BLS preferred
• Education: PharmD/RPh listed
• Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted
• Local: Not accepted; 60-mile radius restriction with no exceptions
• Community Hospital: Preferred
• Trauma II Experience: Preferred
• Meditech: Preferred

Skills Required

• Anticoagulation, clinical, geriatric, pediatric, pharmacokinetic, renal, and warfarin dosing
• Therapeutic medication monitoring
• High-alert medications
• IV preparation, antibiotics, IV piggyback, compounding, sterile technique
• Pyxis and unit-dose medication systems
• Pharmacotherapy management for cardiovascular, endocrine, infectious disease, pulmonary, and renal conditions
• Drug shortage management preferred
• Cardiac dosing preferred

Job Description / Duties / Responsibilities

• Perform medication order verification and clinical review.
• Work from the PharmacyOneSource queue to address clinical alerts, including pharmacokinetic and renal dosing alerts.
• Manage medication therapy and dosing across the listed clinical areas.
• Perform IV preparation, sterile compounding, and medication dispensing.
• Manage medication storage and unit-dose systems.
• Overnight staffing: Pharmacist is the only staff member in the inpatient pharmacy; no pharmacy technician coverage.
• Pharmacists are not expected to attend Code Blues or Rapid Responses.
