ER Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Rochester, New York
• 13-week assignment
• Day or night shifts: 4x12 hours, 7:00–19:00 or 19:00–7:00
• Every other weekend required
• Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
• Accepts first-time travelers
• Local RN candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
• Will float within skillset

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ED - Emergency Department (1 year of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• TNCC
• NIHSS
• Experience with Epic
• Experience with IV therapy (blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, starting/maintaining IVs)
• Experience with IV vasopressors
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP
• Experience with ventilator management
• Experience with CVA (stroke), neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, TBI
• Experience with cardiac monitoring (interpretation and management of dysrhythmias)
• Experience with emergency care (adult/pediatric ED, gunshot wounds, ortho trauma)
• Experience with pediatric spinal cord injury

Unit / Setting

• Adult ER
• Ratios: 1:5
• Adults and geriatrics
• All emergency type diagnoses
• Special equipment includes Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
