Registered Respiratory Therapist
Role
- Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Shift: 19:00 - 07:30
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (2 years of experience)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- NRP Advanced
- High school diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, or associate's degree or technical degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience
- Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Life Support, accepted by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support, accepted by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Responsibilities
- Evaluates patients with respiratory insufficiencies
- Assesses patients for appropriate treatment type and frequency and develops a plan of care
- Implements and monitors patient care plans and equipment
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition
- Performs advanced respiratory care modalities
- Evaluates respiratory practice, medication administration, and treatment based on patient outcomes
- Educates patients and families about the health condition and available support resources
- Responds to emergency resuscitation team code
Work Environment
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment
- Uses Standard Precautions and personal protective equipment as required
