Operating Room RN

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
• 13-week assignment
• Day shift: 4x10 hours, 6:45a–7:15p
• 40 hours per week
• Operating Room has approximately 14 rooms
• Adult and geriatric patient population

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
• OR - Operating Room (2 years of experience)
• OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
• Experience working with Neuro patients
• Experience working with General Surgery patients
• Familiarity with total joint surgery procedures
• Vascular surgery experience
• Experience in the general operating room (OR)
• Transplant experience

Schedule / Call / Float

• Weekend call is required
• Call is required, with approximately 6 weekday call shifts and 2 weekend call rotations
• Floating is required based on facility needs

Unit / Case Mix

• Supports General OR, Neuro, Orthopedic, Vascular, and Transplant procedures
• Common procedures include appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic surgery, thyroidectomy, and Whipple procedures
• Neuro cases include spinal fusion, cervical and lumbar procedures, craniotomy, and laminectomy/discectomy
• Orthopedic experience includes total hip and total knee replacements, fracture procedures, and spine cases
• Vascular experience includes carotid procedures, AV fistula repair, femoral-popliteal bypass, and abdominal aortic aneurysm procedures
