Opportunity:
RN - IMC
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour day/evening shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Schedule includes Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required
• Patient ratio is 3:1 on days, nights, and weekends
• Float as needed within the facility
• Work in both the IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit (D6/5) and the IMC Thoracic unit (B4/3)
• Care for a variety of thoracic surgery patients including those with lung and esophageal diseases, lobectomies, decortications, esophagectomies, and other thoracic procedures
• Assist with procedures such as chest tube insertion in the procedure room located within the unit
• Provide care for cardiac surgery stepdown patients and hospitalist patients
• Manage patients with diagnoses including esophagectomies, lung volume reduction surgery, wedge resection surgery, and cardiac surgery stepdown
• Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown experience required
• Ventilator and transplant experience required
• ICU or IMC and surgical post-op experience required
• Thoracic experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years of acute care inpatient RN experience within the last 3 years in the applicable specialty required
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with a passing score of 80% or higher within two attempts
• Charting experience with Epic required
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA only)
• Wisconsin RN or compact RN license required
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tubes, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, PCA, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, pre/post hemodialysis management, starting and maintaining IVs, surgical drains, telemetry monitoring, titrating vasoactive and insulin drips, TR band, use of rapid response/code teams, and wound care/wound vac
• Locals within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
