Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg/Tele

Job Details:

• Day and night shifts available, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend rotation required with holidays as needed
• Float to like units as needed
• 20 orientation hours required
• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care on a 28-bed acute care unit focused on general internal medicine, geriatrics, and special pathogens
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical diagnoses including infectious diseases as part of the Special Pathogens program
• Work within a fast-paced medical unit that is home to all three general medicine teaching services within an academic medical center
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years required in the specialty being submitted to
• Travel experience required
• Must be located more than 50 miles from the facility - locals not accepted
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Wisconsin RN or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with a passing score of 80% or higher within two attempts
• Required skills include blood product administration, central line care and management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, PICC line management, telemetry, titration of insulin drips, and use of rapid response and code teams
