Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day or night shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required with some holidays
• No on-call responsibilities
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in the specialty required within the last 3 years
• Travel experience required
• CVICU experience required
• Experience and knowledge of NxStage CVVH machine required
• Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area preferred
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Typical patient ratio of 1-2 patients per assignment, up to 3 general care patients when acuity is low
• Care for adult and geriatric patients
• Travelers are required to float as needed
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with a passing score of 80% or higher; two attempts allowed
• Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, CVVHD/CRRT, epicardial pacing wire care and management, Impella, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, ventilator management, and ventricular assist device (LVAD/RVAD)
• Special equipment experience required: CRRT (NxStage), IABP, Impella, HM3 LVAD, ECMO, and Zoll Thermoguard
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), Wisconsin or compact RN license

The CVICU is a dynamic 27-bed unit with private rooms, each capable of ICU-level care, specializing in cardiothoracic surgery, heart and lung transplants, and cardiac medical patients. The nursing team is well-supported with charge RNs, rapid response nurses, nursing assistants, and interdisciplinary services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and more.
