Opportunity:
Surgical Tech - OR
Job Details:
• Day/Evening 12-hour shifts, Monday through Friday from 6:40 AM to 7:10 PM with possible 10:40 AM to 11:10 PM shifts
• Weekday and weekend call responsibilities required
• Possible holiday call responsibilities
• First 1-2 weeks schedule will vary for orientation
• Call rotation is approximately every 4th to 5th weekend
• Travelers are required to float as needed
• Minimum two years of scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred; Trauma Level II experience required
• Assist in surgical procedures across ENT, Eye, and Plastics specialties (Tier 7)
• Eyes: vitrectomy and open globe repair
• Plastics: abdominoplasty, DIEP flap breast reconstruction, free flap, and laparoscopic procedures
• ENT: arch bars, facial repairs, mandibular, zygomatic, sinus surgery, radical neck dissection, tracheostomy, septoplasty, acoustics with craniotomy experience, and direct laryngoscopy
• Ears: cochlear implants
• Prepare the operating room prior to surgery and promote patient safety during surgical procedures
• Provide assistance to the surgeon and care for instruments and supplies used in surgery
• Care for patients of all age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Required equipment experience: Constellation, Straight Shot, liposuction, neoprobe, NIM, Piezo, Klein Pump, and Stryker Navigation
• Required microscope experience: Pentero, Mitaka, and Leica
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), CST preferred
• Successfully completed a surgical technologist program or two years of experience in a surgical technologist role required
• Must be located more than 50 miles from the facility - local candidates not accepted
