Opportunity:
RN - Behavioral Health
Job Details:
• Evening and night shifts available including 8-hour and 12-hour shift options
• Shift schedules include 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, and 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Weekend rotation and holiday coverage required as needed
• Self-scheduling type
• Patient ratios: 1:4 on days and weekends, 1:6 on nights
• Float as PSA based on unit census and operational needs as required
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Behavioral Health RN required
• Previous charge experience required
• Experience with lower RN to patient ratios (1:4) preferred; primary role will NOT be medication distribution
• Inpatient psych experience required with focus on therapeutic engagement over medication distribution
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA only), CPI, Wisconsin or compact RN license
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with a passing score of 80% or higher within two attempts
• Telemetry exam adult criteria includes 100% identification of lethal rhythms (ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole) and no incorrect answers on 3rd degree heart block questions
• Pediatric telemetry exam criteria includes identification of ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, and sinus bradycardia with a passing score of 80% or higher
• Must have experience with the following patient diagnoses: schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, and substance use disorders
• Required skills include de-escalation techniques, crisis intervention, behavior management, physical hold protocols, seclusion protocols, managing assaultive behavior, medication administration, and starting and maintaining IVs
• Must be comfortable working with adult and geriatric patient populations
• Unit operates with 18 beds and a daily census of 14 patients
• Travelers are required to float as needed based on unit census and operational needs
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be accepted

The facility maintains high standards of patient care across a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses and conditions.
