Opportunity:
RN - Behavioral Health
Job Details:
• Evening and night shifts available with 8-hour and 12-hour shift options
• Shift schedules include 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, and 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Weekend rotation and holiday coverage required as needed
• Self-scheduling type
• Patient ratios: 1:4 during days and weekends, 1:6 during nights
• Daily census of 14 patients across 18 beds
• Required to float as PSA based on unit census and operational needs
• Primary role will NOT be medication distribution
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Behavioral Health RN required
• Previous charge experience required
• Inpatient psych experience with lower RN to patient ratio experience preferred (1:4)
• Experience with patient age groups including adults and geriatrics
• Charting system experience required - Epic
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA only), CPI, Wisconsin or compact license
• Required skills include: antianxiety medications, antipsychotics, anxiety disorders, assault/violence management, behavior management techniques, bipolar disorder, crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, emergent chemical restraints, geriatric care, locked unit experience, managing assaultive behavior, medical/psych, medication administration, mood stabilizers, personality disorders, physical hold protocols, post-traumatic stress disorder, psychoeducation, schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, seclusion protocols, self-injurious behavior, severe intellectual disabilities, starting and maintaining IVs, substance use, suicidal behavior, trauma and stressor-related disorders, use of seclusion, and voluntary/involuntary commitment
• Common patient diagnoses include schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, and ECT patients
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Pass/fail telemetry exam required prior to start with a passing score of 80% or higher
• Travelers are required to be located more than 50 miles from the facility
