Job Summary:
A Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The role involves providing direct nursing care to general medical and surgical patients, including short stay procedures, orthopedic, and stroke patients, as well as remote telemetry monitored patients. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment. The position is for an immediate start with an expected duration of 13 weeks.

Job Details:

• Location: Scranton, Pennsylvania
• Schedule: Nights, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., every other weekend and every other holiday, minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certifications; 1-2+ years of medical surgical experience; valid license (willing to review pending licenses)
• Scope of Role: Conducting EKGs, IV insertions, medication administration, Foley insertions, vital signs, assessment documentation, assisting with RSI (Rapid Sequence Intubation), conducting point-of-care testing such as blood glucose monitoring
• Unit Details: 30 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6
• Additional Information: No call required. Blocked scheduling may be requested. The EMR system used is Cerner. Scrub color is navy blue and white.
• Position is for a vacant position with one opening.
