Description

Job Summary:
This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Oncology/Cancer Unit located in Reno, Nevada. The role involves providing specialized nursing care to oncology patients, including those receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments. Candidates are required to bring their Nevada RN license on the first day. The position involves working night shifts with a schedule of 3x12 hours per week, and the minimum weekly hours are 36.

Job Details:

  • Location: Reno, Nevada

  • Shift: Nights, 3x12 hours, minimum 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Nevada RN license required prior to start, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required, at least 2 years of RN experience including 1 year in Oncology, recent 6 months chemo/oncology experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) / ONCC (Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation) Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification.
  • Additional Information: Travelers may be required to float to the needs of the organization up to their competency level. They will be required to pick up one additional shift during the schedule period. Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts. Travelers must work 2 of the 3 major holidays. The unit is a fast-paced environment serving a diverse patient population with advanced cancer treatments, including administration of various chemotherapies and immunotherapies.
  • Licenses: Nevada RN license required prior to start.
  • Certifications: BLS required; Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2+ years RN experience, including 1 year in Oncology; recent chemo/oncology experience within the last 6 months.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Providing comprehensive nursing care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, coordinating care with other health care professionals, and ensuring adherence to unit standards.
