Description
Job Summary:
The healthcare professional specializing in Telemetry Nursing (RN) will be providing nursing care in a medical/surgical telemetry unit located in Salem, Massachusetts. This role involves skilled cardiac monitoring, interpreting telemetry strips, and managing cardiac drips. Candidates are required to bring their active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: Salem, Massachusetts
- Schedule: Rotating shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights) with a total of 12 hours per shift and a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license; American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; at least 2 years of acute care hospital experience in one location; 2 years of experience working as a traveler; experience with telemetry monitoring including measuring intervals and interpreting strips every 4 hours; TR Band experience; ability to perform cardiac drips and read telemetry strips.
- Preferred Qualifications: Willingness to float to 8 different units within the hospital, including ED, mental health units, and ICU; experience caring for acute mental health patients and transfer-ready non-vented ICU patients; experience interpreting cardiac monitor strips and managing cardiac drips.
- Additional Information: Clinician to Patient ratios are up to 5:1 during days and evenings, and up to 6:1 during nights. The unit census ranges from 8 to 41 beds across multiple units, with a total bed count of 371. The EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system used is EPIC. The rotation involves 1 to 3 nights per contract cycle.
