Job Summary:
The ICU Cardiovascular Nurse position is located in San Antonio, Texas. This role involves providing specialized critical care to patients in the intensive care unit with a focus on pediatric cardiac conditions. Candidates are required to bring their RN license on the first day. The position requires clinical expertise, independence, and the ability to manage complex patient needs in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Location: San Antonio, Texas
- Shift: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
- Schedule: Nights, 10 hours per shift, a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications:
Current RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state, valid BLS certification (American Heart Association), ACLS certification (American Heart Association), PALS certification (American Heart Association), and at least 1 year of experience in a critical care setting preferred. Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred. - Preferred Qualifications:
One year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred; new graduates accepted. - Additional Information:
Temp to perm possibility. Must have Pediatric cardiac experience, including chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and vasoactive infusions. - Responsibilities:
Deliver nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Administer medications and treatments per protocols, monitor side-effects, and evaluate treatment effectiveness. Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided. Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
