An Emergency Room (ER) Charge Nurse position is available in Arlington Heights, Illinois. This role requires experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) with a background in emergency care, specifically those with 3 to 5 years of ER experience. The position involves night shifts and requires candidates to bring their Illinois licensure on the first day. The facility handles a high volume of patients, with a focus on stroke and complex cases, and offers a contract duration of 12 weeks.

• Required Qualifications: Illinois License, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification, Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Emergency Certified Registered Nurse (ECRN)
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a high-acuity ER setting with stroke patient care and familiarity with electronic medical record systems, specifically Epic updates
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, totaling 12 weeks
• Additional Information: The facility has an average census of 160-180 patients daily, with a focus on strokes and complex pediatric cases. Orientation includes 12 hours of classroom training and 6 hours of non-billable orientation, scheduled on Tuesday, June 16.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Notes: This role involves working with a high-acuity patient population and requires minimal time off in July and none in August due to system go-live dates.
