Job Summary:
The oncology specialty in Dallas, Texas, is seeking a qualified healthcare professional for a general surgical oncology floor at a medical facility. The position involves providing patient care within a unit that specializes in oncology treatments, blood and electrolyte management, and sterile dressing changes. The role requires a team-oriented individual who can adapt to a fast-paced environment and maintain high standards of infection prevention and patient safety.

Job Details:

• Location: Dallas, Texas, 7777 Forest Lane, 9th/10th Floor, South Tower (A)
• Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Certifications include BLS and ACLS. Candidates must have a strong understanding of sterile dressing changes, infection prevention, blood and electrolyte replacement protocols, and general medical oncology knowledge.
• Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with ports, central lines, and general medical oncology understanding is preferred.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The unit accommodates approximately 41 beds with a team that includes a charge nurse, up to five registered nurses, and up to two patient care technicians per floor during the day shift. Patient ratios are estimated at 4:1 to 5:1. The environment emphasizes a team-centered approach with a dress code of royal blue scrubs, monogrammed with the hospital name, along with hospital-approved jackets. On weekends and on-call duties may be rotating.
