Description

Job Summary: Tallahassee, Florida Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN). The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse to support the Diabetes Medical Care Unit (DMCU), with responsibilities focused on safe patient care for individuals managing complex diabetes-related needs, including insulin drip therapy. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36.0 hours per week.
Required Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (Florida license or compact license)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience
- Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical (MS) and Telemetry (Tele) experience, including experience with insulin drips
- Prior travel experience (at least 1 travel assignment)
Preferred Qualifications:
- None specified.
Additional Information:
- Experience with insulin drips is required for this unit.
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) training in EPIC is required during the second half of the day at orientation, with testing available to test out; if testing is not passed, completion of the full training is required before release to the unit.
- Manager cannot guarantee block scheduling.
- Local candidates are not permitted for Medical Surgical (MS), Telemetry (Tele), or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) settings due to a 50-mile radius rule.
- No travel pairs are available for MS or Tele units unless specifically requested by the facility.
- No holiday paid time off (RTO) and no more than 7 consecutive days of RTO; if more than 4 days of RTO are needed, approval is required from the manager.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio by shift is 1:56.
