Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) in Oak Lawn, Illinois. This position involves supporting a Level I Trauma Center with a high-volume cardiac and vascular surgery service, including open heart and hybrid procedures. The role requires a seasoned healthcare professional skilled in cardiac and trauma cases, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 facility.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 10-hour shifts, with a 6-week rotation schedule. Shifts include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnight coverage. The weekly minimum hours are 40.
• Required Qualifications: 3 years of acute care experience, including trauma and cardiac surgery. Certifications required include Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and relevant licensure in the practicing state. Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in open heart and vascular surgeries, experience scrubbing or circulating in cardiac ORs, and familiarity with Siemens equipment.
• Additional Information: This role involves supporting a busy cardiac surgery service, including hybrid cases such as TAVR, AAA, and endarterectomies. Support staff include charge nurses, anesthesiologists, educators, and resource nurses. The facility operates 24/7, with weekend rotations every 4th weekend and holiday coverage required. Scrub colors are provided.
