Job Summary: Medical Surgical Orthopedic Floor Clinical Nurse Salinas, CA. The organization is seeking a Clinical Nurse to support the Joint Replacement Program across the continuum of care, from pre-operative education through recovery. The role focuses on facilitating and coordinating patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in alignment with applicable regulatory requirements, certification standards, and data reporting needs. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days (5/8s Mon-Friday), 8 shift hours, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing; Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of California; Basic Life Support (BLS) Basic Life Support/Healthcare Provider status per American Heart Association standards; Orthopedic Nurse Certification from Orthopaedic Nurses Certification Board or other relevant specialty certification; minimum of six (6) to twelve (12) months of Epic experience within the past year; previous program development and implementation experience; minimum of four (4) years of clinical nursing experience; thorough knowledge of Joint Commission (TJC) disease-specific and other regulatory requirements; proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel; strong written and oral communication, coordination, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills; strong collaborative work style.
• Preferred Qualifications: Recent experience in orthopedics; Clinical Nurse Specialist/Nurse Practitioner certification.
• Responsibilities: Facilitates and coordinates care for patients considered for joint replacement surgery by systematically and continually performing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation according to the nursing process, in compliance with Joint Commission (TJC) certification and all data reporting agencies required to maintain certification; assists with development, implementation, and evaluation of programs supporting the Joint Replacement Program certification goals; develops, manages, implements, and evaluates the Joint Replacement Program in coordination with the program committee; assists patients in understanding treatment and recovery, including developing a follow-up system to provide continual support throughout recovery and improve quality of life; provides psychosocial and emotional support to joint replacement patients and their families; works closely with the medical staff to coordinate timely care; assists with development of appropriate educational materials for patients, families, and clinical staff in collaboration with the Education Department and Joint Certification committee; attends and participates in Joint Certification meetings and related committee/taskforce activities as needed.
