Description
Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in Louisville, Kentucky. This position involves providing care on a mixed acuity/specialty unit with a focus on high acuity rehabilitation patients. Candidates must bring their license on the first day. The role requires a minimum of one year of experience in a relevant clinical setting.
Job Details:
- Shift Hours: 06/21/2026 06/30/2026, 12-hour shifts (0630-1900 or 1830-0700), with a schedule cycle of every six weeks.
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, one year of clinical experience in a relevant setting.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience caring for patients with Trachs, ventilators, bipaps, cpaps, IVs, PICC lines, central lines, wound care, bowel programs, TPN, drains/tubes, pulmonary patients with trachs, laryngectomies, G-tube/Peg-tube (tube feeds).
- Additional Information:
- Travelers are not expected to care for pediatric patients and may float within scope of practice, mainly using the Float Pool.
- No monitors on unit; vital sync monitors connect to Oxy Net, with centralized monitoring at night.
- Weekend rotation: Every third weekend.
- No on-call requirement.
- Approval of reason to absence (RTO) must go through the manager.
- Scrub color: Galaxy Blue.
- Very accepting unit culture, with expectations to uphold the same standards as full-time staff.
- May work some holidays, with grouping holidays if back-to-back in the contract.
