Job Summary:
Phoenix, Arizona The emergency room (ER) nurse will join a high-volume trauma Level 1 facility, providing acute care for trauma, burns, and pediatric patients. The role involves working 12-hour day shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour days, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, including 4 weekend shifts per month at the unit's discretion.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); minimum of 2 years of ER experience; valid license to submit; willingness to wait for licensure.
- Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level 1 experience, TNCC and ATCN certifications (ENPC not allowed to replace PALS).
- Float: Float within ER; float rotation may be required between specific facilities approximately 30 minutes apart; mid-shift float possible.
- Additional Information: The ER handles trauma, burns, and pediatric transfers, with specific skills testing such as SIMs lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes; competency in sterile field maintenance is essential. The unit has 36 acute beds, 54 subacute beds, and 6 trauma bays.
- Experience: No minimum years of experience explicitly required beyond the role's scope, with a standard minimum of 2 years ER experience preferred.
