Description

Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery is needed in Washington, DC. The position involves providing care for females of childbearing years, pregnant women at 17 weeks gestation or more, laboring patients, and those scheduled for procedures such as cesarean sections and external cephalic versions. The role requires candidates to bring their license on the first day. The assignment is a 12-hour day shift, eight-week contract.

Job Details:

  • Location: Washington, DC
  • Shift: 12-hour days, 3 shifts per week with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state/district; BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications; NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program); AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) - Intermediate electronic fetal monitoring; Minimum of 2 years' Labor and Delivery (L&D) experience; EMR experience with Cerner and Fetalink; at least 50 miles of residence from the facility; on-call one shift per week; LRDP (Labor & Delivery Registered Professional) experience; labor with postpartum experience preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic fetal monitoring at an intermediate level, and familiarity with the Cerner and Fetalink documentation systems.
  • Additional Information: Responsibilities include admissions, discharges, transfers, pre-operative processes, and deliveries via vaginal and cesarean sections. Equipment used includes fetal monitors, and documentation is handled through Cerner and Fetalink systems. Candidates must adhere to SOPs and bring valid licensure.
  • Experience: No minimum years of experience explicitly required besides the 2 years of L&D experience noted, with an emphasis on competence in fetal monitoring and labor procedures.
