Job Summary:
The operating room (OR) registered nurse role based in Burlington, Vermont involves providing specialized surgical nursing care within a high-volume trauma level 1 facility. The position requires flexibility with rotating day and evening schedules, supporting various surgical specialties, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes through skilled clinical practice.

Job Details:

• Shift: Rotating between day and evening shifts, typically three-day shifts plus one off shift, with options for off shifts from 0845-1915, 1045-2115, or 1245-2315. Call requirements include one weekday call per week and one 24-hour call in each four-week schedule block. Must be flexible to meet the needs of the unit and patient care.
• Schedule: 10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Must have at least 2 years of operating room (OR) registered nurse (RN) experience
  • Must have large trauma level 1 experience in facilities with 500+ beds
  • Recent EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system experience from within the past 2 years is mandatory
  • Must have circulating and scrub skills, with checklists included in the application packet
  • Ability to scrub all specialties except cardiovascular surgery (CVOR) cases
  • Ability to scrub in general OR, urology, gynecology, ENT, ophthalmology, plastics, laparoscopy, trauma, thoracic, and vascular surgeries
• Additional Information:
  • IVS to offer
  • Schedule includes working from Monday to Sunday, with no block schedules for any reason
  • Bi-weekly orientations scheduled on Mondays
  • All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
  • Complete work history including bed count, electronic medical record systems, facility type, etc., is required for submission
