Description

Job Summary:
The location is in Phoenix, Arizona. This is a Telemetry (TELE) Registered Nurse position at a Neuro Acute unit. The role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients with neurological conditions, including epilepsy, brain tumors, subdural hematomas, scoliosis surgeries, TBI, and other neuro diagnoses. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of orientation.

Job Details:

  • Position: Registered Nurse Neuro Acute 6NNA/B
  • Shift and Hours: Days shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Location: Phoenix, Arizona
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
  • Education and Experience: BSN preferred; minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Med Surg/Telemetry nursing required
  • Unit specifics: Total of 48 beds with 10 epilepsy specialty rooms; nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 during days and nights; charge nurse and resource RN available; PCT coverage on days and nights; work into holiday rotation; Scrub color: Greys Anatomy / Steel
  • Additional information: Strong critical thinking and assessment skills required, with the ability to detect small changes in patient condition. Experience with Neuro diagnosis assessments, including cranial nerves, will be trained for skilled nurses. The unit manages vents (BiPAP) with RT support present during days, and pharmacy and RT are available 24/7. Floating to other units such as Med Surg/Telemetry, possibly Westgate or AZ General Laveen Campus, may be required after floor orientation. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
  • Required Qualifications: Arizona nursing license; valid BLS and ACLS certifications; minimum 2 years Med Surg/Telemetry nursing experience; willing to wait for license submission; experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record.
  • Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, working from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with at least 36 hours per week, including 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week period. Work into holiday rotation.
