Job Summary:
A registered nurse (RN) position is available at a medical-surgical unit located in Lafayette, Indiana. The role involves providing compassionate and efficient patient care within a short-stay patient environment, primarily for ambulatory individuals undergoing testing, pre-surgical procedures, or experiencing chest pain evaluation. Candidates are required to bring their licensure on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Dayshift from 0600 to 1830 hours, with an alternative shift from 0530 to 1800 hours for charge nurses. Four weekend shifts are required every six weeks.
• Required Qualifications: BLS certification, RN licensure, at least 2 years of RN experience, and med/surg experience preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EKG readings, leadership skills.
• Additional Information: The unit has 16 beds with patient ratios of 1:5. Equipment includes bladder scanners, EKG machines, vein lights, and VS machines. The electronic medical record system used is Epic.
• Type of Patients: Short-stay, mostly ambulatory, undergoing tests, IV antibiotics, pre-surgical procedures, or chest pain evaluation.
• Personality Fit: Candidates should be kind, team-oriented, reliable, flexible, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a can-do attitude.
• Dress Code: Scrubs in navy blue are required. Hoodies and T-shirts are unacceptable.
• First Day Instructions: Candidates should report to the 3900 building, south parking lot.
• Additional Details: Prior completion of education modules may be required before the first day.
