Description
Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Float Nurse position is based in Birmingham, Alabama. This role involves floating between multiple ICU units, including Medical ICU (MICU), Surgical ICU (SICU), Cardiac ICU (CICU), and Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU), as well as covering stepdown units on various floors. The position requires a minimum of two years of ICU experience and is scheduled for day shifts. The assignment offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic and multidisciplinary environment.
Job Details:
- Location: Birmingham, AL
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 07/13/2026
- Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience in a specialized setting
- Travel experience preferred
- Cerner EMR experience required if starting before 07/25/2026
- Active compact or Alabama license
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience floating between ICU units including MICU, SICU, CICU, and CVICU
- Ability to float to stepdown units on floors 4N, 5N, and 7N
- Additional Information:
- Float rotation may be required
- The assignment does not permit any reason to return to the organization between 07/19/2026 and 08/08/2026
- No travel required for this position
- Submission requirements include Cerner EMR experience if starting prior to 07/25/2026
