Job Summary:
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse position is located in a healthcare organization in Marquette, Michigan. This role involves providing high-quality, patient-centered nursing care for adult patients recovering from anesthesia. The PACU Nurse is responsible for rapid assessment, monitoring, and managing patient stability during immediate post-operative recovery, ensuring safe transfers to appropriate units or discharge.

Job Details:

• Shift: 12-hour shifts, consisting of 5 Days/5 Nights, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: RN license with required certifications, BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale Competency, Telemetry/ECG Competency, and 1 year of med/surg experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in post-anesthesia or PACU settings; telemetry experience.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 5 days per week, minimum of 36 hours weekly, starting on 08/03/2026.
• Additional Information: Patient ratios are approximately 1:5, with no defined ratios. The role requires float capability to Medical, Cardiac, Neuro, and Orthopedic units. The patient population is adult only (18 years and older). The organization utilizes Cerner electronic health record system. Equipment includes cardiac monitors.
• Position Responsibilities: Perform initial assessments and frequent reassessments, administer medications and treatments, monitor vital signs, provide patient education, coordinate care, document accurately, facilitate admissions and discharges, respond to urgent situations, and participate in performance improvement activities.
