Job Summary:
The organization is seeking an Operating Room Cardiothoracic and Open Heart Surgery RN in Iowa City, Iowa. This position involves working on a team delivering cardiac surgical services, with responsibilities including scrub functions for complex cardiac procedures. The role offers an opportunity to join a facility with a strong focus on trauma and transplant surgery.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Day shifts, 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, at least 2 years of recent Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nurse experience, including experience scrubbing cardiac surgeries. Candidates must have large Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience and demonstrate competency in heart scrub skills, supported by an OR Scrub Skills Checklist in the submittal packet.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with transplants (heart and lung), peripheral vascular surgeries, and team rotation for on-call responsibilities, including 1x per week and 1 weekend (Saturday or Sunday) 24-hour call in a 4-week rotation.
• Additional Information: The position requires familiarity with SOPs specific to cardiac surgery, and team rotation is part of the schedule setup.
