Emergency Room Nurse in Redwood City, California. This position involves providing care for typical emergency room patients in a busy, high-acuity environment. The role includes managing walk-in patients, collaborating with hospitalist and intensivist teams, and contributing to a high-quality patient care experience.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, minimum of 36 hours per week. Work every other weekend and participate in the holiday schedule. Shift start times may vary between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to submit; certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, COVID vaccine required; at least 2 years of experience in a similar size emergency room.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with electronic medical record systems, trauma experience.
• Float: Floats are doubtful; extra shifts may be available for those with ICU, telemetry, or MedSurg experience.
• Additional Information: The ER handles high-volume, walk-in patients, and caters to an affluent population. It is not a trauma center but manages complex cases like CVAs, cardiac caths, and pediatric emergencies. The unit has a charge nurse present 24/7, and the environment emphasizes patient comfort, offering amenities like baskets with essentials. Orientation consists of two shifts with a preceptor.
