Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in Peoria, Illinois. This position involves providing perioperative care in a busy pediatric surgical department. The role includes ensuring patient safety, assisting with surgeries, and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts (07:00-17:30) Monday through Friday with call shifts for nights, weekends, and holidays. No set day off; efforts are made to limit consecutive Fridays or Mondays off within each 6-week schedule period. Self-scheduling is available and balanced prior to schedule release.
• Required Qualifications: Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license or active application process; Minimum of 2 years experience in primary circulating OR cases, preferably pediatric circulating experience; BLS certification (American Heart Association); Age of experience: 0 years minimum; Location: Illinois.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with pediatric general cases, ENT, dental, urology, ophthalmology, simple pediatric orthopedics, and gastrointestinal cases. Prior scrubbing experience is preferred but not required; familiarity with Epic EMR.
• Additional Information:
  • Department includes 30 operating rooms with pediatric surgery runs 3-4 daily.
  • Team includes a primary charge nurse daily and a house supervisor 24/7.
  • Staffing includes 1 RN and 1 surgical technologist (ST) per OR, on-call personnel.
  • Weekends are on a rotation with one weekend every 4 weeks, and holiday coverage is on-call only.
  • Call response time: 30 minutes.
  • Floats within surgical specialties as needed for staffing.
  • Hospital provides scrubs that remain within the facility.
  • Orientation includes 1-2 days with a surgery department educator and 2-3 days OR-specific training.
  • This position is scheduled to start on 07/20/2026.
  • No trauma level designation specified; staffing for acute care setting.
  • Charting system used is EPIC.
