Description

Job Summary:
Endoscopy Technician Bakersfield, California. This position involves assisting with delegated tasks of patient care within the Endoscopy Department under supervision. The technician is responsible for handling, reprocessing, and storing endoscopy procedural equipment, preparing procedure rooms, assisting with minor procedures, and maintaining infection prevention practices. The role requires collaborating effectively within a clinical team in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 8-hour shift, Days Monday through Friday (9:00 AM 5:30 PM) with rotating call coverage on weekends and weeknights (4:30 PM 11:00 PM)
  • Required Qualifications: One (1) year of experience as a GI Technician or in related roles such as Anesthesia Technician, Patient Care Technician, Perioperative Associate, Sterile Processing Technician, Medical Assistant, or Certified Nursing Aide; High school diploma or G.E.D.; Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Knowledge of sterile techniques, infection prevention, clinical procedures, and equipment troubleshooting; Ability to work independently, follow instructions, develop effective relationships, and learn GI standards
  • Preferred Qualifications: Certification as an Endoscopy Technician from the GI/Endoscopy Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (preferred)
  • Additional Information: Assists with patient transfer and positioning, manages specimens, stocks supplies, troubleshoots equipment, performs surgical counts, and adheres to infection control standards. The position involves working as part of a clinical team in various procedural tasks within an Endoscopy Department.
