Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in Phoenix, Arizona. This role involves providing specialized surgical nursing care within a busy OR department that handles a variety of cases including general, orthopedic, robotics, plastics, trauma, ENT, spine, urology, gynecology, neonatal procedures, high-risk cesarean sections, donors, hand, and eye surgeries. The position requires competence in sterile technique and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced surgical environment, supporting a team during various operative procedures.

Job Details:

• Location: Phoenix, AZ
• Schedule: Day shift, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 6:30 AM 5:00 PM, with a total of 10 hours per shift and a minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Arizona nursing license, BLS certification, minimum of 2 years OR experience, proficiency in sterile technique, ability to pass a clinical skills exam on day 1 of orientation, and familiarity with Cerner and Surginet electronic charting systems
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with robotics, trauma, and orthopedic trauma cases; ability to float to other OR campuses if qualified
• Additional Information:
  • Must have the ability to perform Foley catheter insertions, central line dressing changes, lifts, restraints, and wound care
  • Will participate in SIMs lab for sterile skills validation
  • On-call requirement: one call shift per week and one weekend a month
  • Float to Lithotripsy, Westgate, or other Advance General Laveen Campus if skilled
  • All candidates must understand sterile field protocols and demonstrate competence in essential nursing skills, especially in sterile procedures, as these are frequently performed
  • Shift orientation duration: 1 week
  • Trauma, orthopedic trauma, and general surgical experience are required
