Description
Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse specializing in Neonatal, Obstetric, and Postpartum care in Dickson, Tennessee. This position involves providing comprehensive care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum phases, as well as neonatal assessment and stabilization. The role requires hands-on experience with labor support, newborn transition, and emergency OB procedures in a high-acuity setting.
Job Details:
- Location: Dickson, Tennessee
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
- Start Date: 08/10/2026
- Required Qualifications: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Fetal Monitoring training certifications; minimum 1 year of labor and delivery experience including assessment, labor support, and neonatal transition.
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 active labors, inductions, and cesarean sections; 1:3 couplet care; 1:1 newborns until stable; 1:3 intermediate NICU care with two NICU nurses present when applicable.
- Unit Specifics: Includes 9 beds in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP), 1 bed in OB Emergency Department (OBED), 4 NICU beds, and 1 Operating Room. Equipment includes CPN central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, telemedicine robot for neonatologists, bili-blankets, and PCA pumps.
- Procedures & Skills: C-sections, circumcisions, intrauterine monitoring, vacuum or forceps-assisted deliveries.
- Certifications & Training: BLS, NRP, including Fetal Monitoring training.
- Dress Code: Pink and/or brown scrubs per infant security policy.
- Additional Information: The unit has a dedicated team of experienced RNs, averaging approximately 30 years of experience each, fostering a supportive environment for new staff and offering opportunities to gain diverse labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care experience.
