Description
Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery Department Nurse is responsible for providing specialized care for women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods in a healthcare facility located in Nashville, Tennessee. The role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes, utilizing advanced skills and adhering to hospital policies and guidelines.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 08/10/2026
- Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as a registered nurse; AWHONN Intermediate (not advanced) or Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (CEFM); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Basic Life Support (BLS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience; Tennessee licensure preferred; at least 1 year of recent L&D experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with care of the laboring patient, immediate postpartum care, and circulating and recovering Cesarean Section patients; proficiency in procedures like vaginal deliveries, C-sections, dilation and curettage, cerclage, epidural anesthesia, tub labor
- Additional Information: The position involves working in a well-equipped unit with a focus on shared decision making and patient-centered care. Candidates must be comfortable with unit-specific policies, including documentation systems such as CPN and Meditach.
- Float: Float rotation may be required
