Job Summary

The Electrophysiology (EP) Laboratory Nurse is responsible for assisting with all procedures performed in the EP lab. This role involves utilizing specialized monitoring and stimulation systems, intra-cardiac echo, and 3D mapping technologies. The position requires proficiency in sterile techniques and the ability to support physicians during the implantation of Permanent Pacemakers, Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators (ICDs), and Biventricular ICDs. The Nurse must demonstrate a strong understanding of cardiac arrhythmias and invasive EP procedures, as well as operational skills for X-ray systems.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse licensure in South Carolina or a recognized multi-state license, at least one year of nursing experience, experience in high acuity critical care, emergency department, or Cath Lab preferred, current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
  • Preferred Qualifications: RCIS or RCES credential preferred, experience with electrophysiology procedures such as ablations and Left Atrial Appendage Occlusions (LAAOs)
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to cover cath lab, TEE, or cardiovascular procedures, primarily for intra-procedure documentation and room circulation
  • Additional Information: The Nurse will monitor radiation exposure levels during procedures, assist with room stocking and inventory management, and document patient data accurately. Role involves patient education, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout invasive procedures.
