Description
Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse to work at a facility located in Dickson, Tennessee. This role involves providing comprehensive care within a specialized unit that manages labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care. The position offers an opportunity to work with a highly experienced team in a well-equipped, collaborative environment.
Job Details:
- Shift Schedule: Days shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Must have three or more years of experience, including labor and delivery experience. Candidate should possess certifications such as BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring training. Education and licensure must meet the requirements of the state licensing board.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and OB emergencies is preferred. Advanced fetal monitoring skills and experience with inductions (Pitocin, cervidil) are highly desirable.
- Clinical Responsibilities: Delivering on-site procedures such as C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, and assisted deliveries with vacuum or forceps. Providing labor, postpartum, and neonatal care, including assessment and stabilization of newborns.
- Unit Environment: The unit comprises 6 highly experienced registered nurses, averaging 30 years of experience each, supported by a team of skilled staff. It features modern equipment such as CPN central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robots for neonatologists, bili-blankets, and PCA pumps. Documentation is managed via Meditech and CPN systems.
- Patient Care: Daily rounding on all patients, safety rounds, and adherence to unit-specific policies and procedures. The unit functions as a cohesive team, dedicated to providing excellent patient care within a Level II NICU, Level II Trauma, and Joint Commission-certified facility.
- Dress Code: Pink and/or brown scrubs are required in accordance with the infant security policy.
