Description
Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Telemetry (TELE) is needed for a healthcare organization in Phoenix, AZ. The nurse will provide care primarily to oncology and medical-surgical patients in an acute care setting. The position involves working with a team to deliver quality patient care on a 12-hour day shift schedule.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour days, with at least 36 hours per week, including four weekend shifts every four weeks and holidays rotating according to unit coverage.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license in the state of Arizona; Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS); and at least 2 years of recent clinical experience in a hospital setting.
- Preferred Qualifications: Oncology certification is a plus; experience interpreting electrocardiograms (EKG).
- Float: Float to other Medical-Surgical/Tele units may be required.
- Additional Information: The unit has 32 acute telemedicine beds with a patient ratio of 1:4. EMR system utilized is Cerner. The hospital provides a unit-specific orientation lasting two days. Nurses will be expected to pass a skills exam on Day 1 of orientation, including sterile technique and bedside procedures. The hospital prefers candidates who are competent in sterile fields, lifts, restraints, and wound care, with emphasis on maintaining sterile technique during complex procedures. The unit maintains a minimum of one weekend shift per month and incorporates holiday shifts into the rotation. Certification in chemotherapy is a plus but not required. The hospital has a 1 Trauma Level designation in an acute care setting and does not have an in-house hospitalist or intensivist team.
